Don't be ashamed, we are not the only one but the major Bot producer(we as in Chinese).

Banning of botter is good, banning an innocent isn't a ultimate sin, since mistakes happened. The main problem in here is what kind of method you are using to determine a bot-like-behavier.

Demesis don't feel bad,
there is an estimated 20 million online gamers in china, there is bound to be more bot's and third party programs from that many players.
The chines programmers are very well educated but way underpaid and there was no law's covering hacking the internet outside china until very resently.
If you have your firewall log all intrusion attempts on your PC for 24 hours you will find that 80-90% off them originate in china. China just resently signed Copyright law's after alot off pressure from the rest of the world.

sorry for off the topic

Wow am i glad that my money comes from that little chest in the Hall of Heroes and not from doing something repeatedly that could get you banned. I'm glad that you got your account back and I hope that you get that certain gold item to keep you rich for ages so you won't have to farm as much

Why do most PR people seem like Kimberly Duncan from Terminator 2:3D (“super”)? Why can’t they be humble enough to see from both sides, instead of safe guarding company policy? I mean saying that lawsuits come in all the time, but never win in the end; it’s like they see the glass half full all the time, instead of half-empty (and yes I know they get paid for it). Just joking of course, I really don’t believe Galie fits in this category just yet (hopefully).

Anyways going on about this, I really don’t think it’s necessary to forget that these are people too, and some of them are loyal customers; not all are innocent though. Also the whole point to this post, (from my point of view) is that this grim set of circumstances could happen to you. At least for those people who are not in total fault, (give them some support) especially when they go through these hassles (don’t dismiss by “structured pattern”). Some of those customers will be with you till the end, and isn’t that what you want (reliability and respect)? A-net has yet to pull a fast one on me and technically I should not be complaining. Although situations like the one Wilderness went through makes me shiver to think of, other companies that have rejected my request for help in the past (and just playing ignored). I just hope that will not be the case in future situations. Finally I like to congratulate Wilderness on getting A-net to get the account back online.

First, grats to Wilderness on having his account reinstated...I can feel exactly what you went through...

I was also one of the first wave to get banned and, apparently, one of the approximate 115 (?) to be reinstated. My "crime"? Being recent retired military, I'm occupying my time with what I presently enjoy...playing GW...and 6 hours a day sitting on your a-- playing computer games is nothing after 20 years of Uncle Sam! Anyway, I had a goal of reaching "Steward" in 4 weeks after obtaining 100% Explorer in both campaigns. This just so happened to be about the time of the inital 'bot' ban. I went afk for dinner and returned to see I was logged out. I relogged to see the same great cheerful message Wilderness did! It did take three emails, each one written being a bit more p.o.'d; however, I did get reinstated the following day...

Still, as of today, I've NEVER received any type of apology from Anet...hmm, must be busy reconfiguring parameters?

So, from my perspective...let's create a campaign to control towns by the amount of faction per Alliance; yet, let's ban those that work toward gaining said faction to hold a town??? Wow! ...and I thought Sister Tai had her head up her a--?

Well Anet is the "hand" that puts food on her table so she can't really say anything bad about the "hand" lest the "hand" stops putting food on her table and instead smacks her on the bottom instead!

Yeah but you gotta remember there are language inconsistencies in China when it comes to the english language, along with some common truths.

In China, Copyright means they "copied it right"

Anet said they was watching you, but most Bots dont reply, so why didnt they just message you? then if you replied this could of been avoided.

or dosnt it work like that :| sounds pretty simple to me

The GMs on a umm non-official RO server did that, they would monitor popular farming areas and message certain suspicious individuals.

But it would be alot harder for Anet to do that considering the size of the population and simply because of the individual instances.

Don't. If there weren't any paying customers ( usually USians ) for farmed virtual gold, the farmers/botters wouldn't do it ( because it wouldn't pay their bills ). Since obviously the demand for this service is there ( sad but true ), and considering the normal wage/hour in china, it's not surprising that a lot of chinese are doing this.

A chinese friend of mine also told me that the goldfarmers he knows aren't working in a sweatshop, but are 'too lazy' to do 'real work'. If you get paid lets say 1$/hour for farming in an online game, and the alternative would be to get 1.2$/hour for carrying around heavy stuff all day, what would you chose?

After reading the last 2 pages, my jaw dropped the ground about these lawsuits and allegations. It looks like Anet/NCSoft is involved in a lot more unfair practices than banning innocents.

HOWEVER I just wanted to say, I commend the Mods of this site for NOT censoring or shutting up people who may have something to say that NCSoft wouldn't like. This in contrast to the Lineage 2 forum.

This is not an official site, and A-NET != NCSOFT.

meh, the first 2 links were the exact same article. submitted by "anonymous" to an absolutely obscure website. i can't even find confirmation that there *is* a lawsuit of that magnitude. not to mention the paranoid, bitter, rantings of the supposed plaintiff.

the second article refers to a 3rd party taking advantage of ncsofts game. how is that their fault?
